Camp Program Info & Bussing

CAMP PROGRAM INFO 

Directors contact information will available prior to the start of camp.

Registration closes in the office at 4:00 pm the Wednesday before the program begins, provided that spaces are still available.
Online registration closes at 11:50 pm the Wednesday before the program begins, provided that spaces are still available. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Participants must be 5 by June 30th and are only registered for weeks that are paid for.

Camp runs from 9:00 – 3:00 daily. There is before-care starting at 7:30 am (it is free; pre-registration required). 


After Care runs from 3:00-5:30 pm with a $45 additional fee. All After Care will be at The Rec Center. All participants will be bussed to the Rec Center from their camp.

There is no camp on June 19th or Tuesday, July 3rd.


Breakfast and Lunches will be free to all campers and junior counselors, daily. Here is the menu!

BUS INFORMATION

Camp Teen Quest, Camp Crystal, Camp Snow, Camp Dance, Camp Moody, and Camp Spencer.

Buses depart Palmer Field at 7:50 am & depart from each site at 3:00 pm.
Bussing additions and changes MUST be made the WEDNESDAY before the enrolled week of camp starts. All changes must be done via email at rec@middletownct.gov.

Parents/Guardians should arrive to the bus stop prior to the drop off
time to meet their camper/child. Please allow a ten minute window
on scheduled times. Bus Stops are not supervised!

Please answer the question on your custom form for your child, at least 8 years old, to walk home from camp or the bus stop.

If no one is at the bus stop to pick up your child, they will remain on the bus until the route ends at Palmer Field Parking Lot.

We will contact you to let you know that no one was at the bus stop.

CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations or changes (bussing or camp) must be emailed to rec@middletownct.gov by the Wednesday prior to the start of the program. Please email rec@middletownct.gov with the child’s name and program. NO refunds will be given if this process is not followed. There is a $25 processing fee for refunds. NOTICES

Camp Schedules & Bus Routes will be emailed prior to the start of the summer camp. They are also available for pickup in hard copy from our office, on our city website, and here on our MyRec page. 

MEDICAL/INSURANCE POLICY

City of Middletown has liability insurance but does not carry accident insurance. Personal health and accident insurance is recommended. All parents/guardians must sign our Medical Release/Parental Permission form.

LATE FEE

If participants are picked up late, there is a $10 charge for every 10 minutes. The charge will be posted to your account and you will need to pay before you can register for another program. If participants are picked up late more than twice, they may be dismissed from camp.

We accept: Cash, check, money orders, and debit/credit cards (MasterCard/Visa).

Sibling discounts apply to siblings being registered the same week at our traditional camps. Please email us rec@middletownct.gov, if the discount does not apply.

FINANCIAL AID

Camp fees may be waived if you are eligible for Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF). Please know that we have some financial aid opportunities and we participate in the Care4Kids program as a provider. 

If cost is a factor, PLEASE reach out to us. We will do our very best to work with you. We can’t wait to see you and your family this upcoming summer.
