Refund, Cancelled Class and Returned Checks Policies


Refund Policy

  • All requests for refunds, must be done via an email to rec@middletownct.gov.
  • Cancellation requests must be made by 4:30 pm,two (2) business days before the program begins. 
  • Refunds not given once a program has begun, however, in the event of injury or illness, a refund request will be considered if accompanied by a doctor’s note. 
  • No refunds will be given for any unused portion of a program or activity. 
  • Summer Camp refunds, Debit and Credit refunds are issued back to the original card, minus a $25 bank processing fee. 
  • Cash or check refunds are issued with a check, through Finance, minus a $25 bank processing fee.
  • If you cancel a program, and wish to have an account credit, we will credit the full amount to your account.


Cancelled Class Policy 
  • In case of inclement weather cancellations, Recreation doesn’t make up the missed classes. However, if a class with an instructor is available to teach a makeup class and space is available, we will make every effort on instructor based classes.
Returned Checks Policy
  • There is a $10.00 fee for a returned check.
