Silver-lates: A Senior Fitness class for Strength and Stability - Fall Session 1 - Silver-lates: A Senior Fitness class for Strength and Stability This class is designed especially for older adults looking to stay strong. Using a combination of standing and seated exercises only, you’ll build muscle strength, improve balance and enhance stability to help prevent falls. The class also includes stretching and mobility work to keep joints flexible and movements comfortable. Whether trying soccer for the first time, or wanting to sharpen your skills; our focus is to build confidence. Our goal is to strengthen footwork, dribbling, passing, and power striking through skill drills, and skill reinforcing activities. These drills will help build a basic understanding of the game of soccer. Shin guards are optional, but are not required because our activities are low contact. We only ask to please wear safe gym athletic sneakers.MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED.

Her practice and teaching of these simple, ancient yogic practices aim to ground us in our own divinity, lift us, and heal us. The practice is made of gentle, slow, and controlled movements linked simply and easefully to our natural breath. Practice finishes with a nourishing, guided relaxation. This sort of practice supports embodiment--resting deeply in the body and being at ease, in our natural state. Students should dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat. Karen Sevenoff is a student of Mark Whitwell & Gary Kraftsow and received her Yoga Certification at the Integral Yoga Ashram in Yogaville, VA. Karen Has been offering classes and workshops in CT for over 20 years.

You will use lightweight maraca-like toning sticks for some of the routines to enhance sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core, and lower body. Tai Chi for Long Life - Fall Session 1 - Tai Chi for Long Life Tai Chi For Long Life is a unique health and fitness program designed to help relieve chronic pain and sickness, reverse many symptoms associated with normal aging, significantly reduce the harmful effects of stress, instill a deep sense of calm and relaxation, increase vitality and improve one’s overall quality of health. Tai Chi has been shown through scientific studies to, among other things, improve balance, prevent falls, alleviate arthritis, clear the mind, release stress, and manage blood sugar levels. Zumba - Fall Session 1 - Zumba Zumba is exercise in disguise. Zumba is a dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements which create a dynamic, exciting workout. This class combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic/fitness fashion to achieve a unique balance of cardio and muscle toning. You will use lightweight maraca-like toning sticks for some of the routines to enhance sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core, and lower body. Silver-lates: A Senior Fitness class for Strength and Stability - Fall Session 1 - Silver-lates: A Senior Fitness class for Strength and Stability This class is designed especially for older adults looking to stay strong. Using a combination of standing and seated exercises only, you’ll build muscle strength, improve balance and enhance stability to help prevent falls. The class also includes stretching and mobility work to keep joints flexible and movements comfortable. Every exercise can be modified to suit your needs—making it safe, supportive, and enjoyable for all fitness levels. Students of all ages and levels are welcome!

Youth Soccer - Fall Session 1 - Youth Soccer Youth Soccer: This is our Indoor Introductory Soccer Skills class for ages 8-11 held in the Rec Center Multi-Purpose Room. Whether trying soccer for the first time, or wanting to sharpen your skills; our focus is to build confidence. Our goal is to strengthen footwork, dribbling, passing, and power striking through skill drills, and skill reinforcing activities. These drills will help build a basic understanding of the game of soccer. Shin guards are optional, but are not required because our activities are low contact. We only ask to please wear safe gym athletic sneakers.MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED.

Yoga with Karen - Fall Session 1 - Yoga with Karen Karen Sevenoff is a life-long student of yoga and meditation. Her practice and teaching of these simple, ancient yogic practices aim to ground us in our own divinity, lift us, and heal us. The practice is made of gentle, slow, and controlled movements linked simply and easefully to our natural breath. Practice finishes with a nourishing, guided relaxation. This sort of practice supports embodiment--resting deeply in the body and being at ease, in our natural state. Students should dress comfortably and bring a yoga mat. Karen Sevenoff is a student of Mark Whitwell & Gary Kraftsow and received her Yoga Certification at the Integral Yoga Ashram in Yogaville, VA. Karen Has been offering classes and workshops in CT for over 20 years.
